You may see me talk about Piper, Boo or Chelsea from time to time and wonder – who the heck are they?
They are my fur babies, that’s who! 🙂
Piper came into my life in August of 2004. I was at work one day and one of the guys had mentioned that they saw some kittens running around the stacks of pipe out in the yard. I immediately went to their rescue! 😉 I ended up pulling out 3 little kittens that day, Piper being the first. The second I got him out, I proclaimed “this one is mine!” They were only about 4 weeks old and obviously abandoned by some sorry excuse of a person.
This is what he looked like the day I found him.
This little guy has been through a lot with me over the years and despite giving me 2 scares of the past 2 years with sickness, he is now going on strong. 🙂
Now meet Boo!
Moving into my house the spring of 2007 was a bittersweet moment for me. I was finally out on my own, but the circumstances around the situation wasn’t so great. Getting used to a big 3 bedroom house with just Piper and myself was a lot to get used to. He had always had a buddy no matter where we lived before, so I decided in December that I would go and get him a friend. I drove to the local humane society and came home with this little gal. It just kills me how people could abandon such a sweet face.
Here she is the day I brought her home.
Even though this little girl can be quite the brat at times (;) ), I am so glad I adopted her that day.
Piper is also very glad. The two have become the best of friends.
Now last, but definitely not least, we have Chelsea. …also known as Chelsea bun, donkey kong, Chels, my lady, etc. 😉
You already met her briefly in my riding section. Chelsea is my horse.
It’s safe to say that we’ve become quite the team over the past 11 years. As cheesy as it may sound, absolutely nothing beats going to the farm to be greeted by this face after a long day at the office.
Despite her ‘interesting’ personality, she is hands down my first true love. (but don’t worry Chris) 😉 We have our ups and our downs, but when we have those ups together, I can only describe it as magic. I can only hope that I am able to keep this girl for the duration of her life.
