Wedding DIY: Hair Flower

I knew right from the get-go that I wanted to wear a flower in my hair on my wedding day.  I didn’t however want to fork out even more money on one. Have you seen the prices for those things??? Take a look at bridal stores and even etsy… for someone as frugal as me, the price most definitely is NOT right.

So what’s a girl to do?

Well the next best thing. Make one, of course!

Yesterday out of nowhere, I googled something along the lines of “how to make a hair flower” and instantly came across THIS free tutorial.  I instantly thought that this was totally something I could try with some of the extra fabric from my dress! (I told you there was a lot)

It was such a quick and easy craft and I am so in love with the result!

Here’s what it looked like after cutting out the fabric.

Here’s an awkward shot showing it in my hair to see how the size would work…

And, the final product!!

I just LOVE it and can’t wait to wear it on my wedding day!!

Best part, it was very easy on the wallet.  The fabric itself was free, and the jewel in the middle was $10.  Not too shabby at all. 😉

  1. Gorgeous! It looks lovely on you. Is that eight layers for the flower? And where did you get the center, it’s perfect! (I’m getting married soon too.)

    • HI there!! I believe I used 5 or 6 layers, but 8 would work too! They jewel was purchased from Michaels. 🙂 Congrats on your upcoming wedding!
